UHI-STEM
Project Scope
The University of the Highlands and Islands (UHI) STEM program focusses on advancing science, technology, engineering, and mathematics education across the Scottish Highlands. Through innovative initiatives, the program serves a broad audience, including stakeholders, students, and the wider Highlands community.
The Inverness Design Studio collaborated with UHI-STEM to design their annual report, creating a visually engaging and informative document that effectively communicates the program’s impact and developments to stakeholders & students.
Project Overview
UHI-STEM engaged us to design an impactful annual report that would not only communicate their achievements but also inspire stakeholders and students about the future of STEM in the Highlands. This project required a clear, professional, and creative approach to make complex information accessible and visually appealing to a diverse target audience.
Our design incorporated imagery across various STEM disciplines, which unified the report’s theme while visually tying different sections together.
The Challenge
The UHI STEM program needed an annual report that effectively highlighted their activities, achievements, and goals while appealing to a diverse audience, including educational partners and young students. The previous reports were text-heavy, and they wanted a refreshed, design-driven approach that simplified complex data and made key messages stand out. The challenge was to create a visually dynamic, easy-to-navigate report that would maintain engagement from cover to cover.
The Result
Our team delivered a well-structured, engaging annual report that met the goals of UHI STEM. We designed a cohesive layout that seamlessly integrated images, graphics, and concise text sections to make the report easy to navigate and visually attractive. The report now serves as an essential tool for UHI STEM, showcasing their impact in a way that resonates with both stakeholders and students.
The response from UHI STEM was overwhelmingly positive, with feedback highlighting the report’s polished, professional look and ease of understanding.
